this morning while i was fixing sarah's hair for picture day at preschool, she began this story...
"so, mom (how most stories start around here)...when you go to the hospital, i'm going to stay with mimi at her house. you are going to go to the hospital and get in a bed. then, they are going to put a blanket on top of you, and THEN they are going to hand you a baby! its going to be baby jacob! then i am going to come sit on your bed with you and hold baby jacob very nice and give him a bottle! won't that be fun (how most stories end around here)?"
i'm so glad sarah has it all figured out at the ripe ole age of FOUR. if only it were that simple, kid...

At least Sarah plans on sitting on the bed with you... When Jared was born, Chris came to the hospital room and IGNORED me the ENTIRE time he was there! (He even refused to give me a hug!)
I think he felt like I left him out of the whole "birthing" experience and he had to stay with the grandparents, so he was punishing me with the cold shoulder.
I'm so glad that Sarah is excited about baby Jacob. What does Drew think? He may be short, but he misses NOTHING!

Oh, another comment... I see that you are almost at 36 weeks... Jared was born at 36 weeks. 6 lbs. 4 oz.
Just food for thought.

dana, sarah was a little stand-offish when drew was born. not that she could truly understand how her life had changed at 17 months old, but she was definitely hesitant. she was WAY more interested in pushing her baby stroller around the room than sitting with me or looking at her little brother. she is SO pumped now about jacob coming, i hope it actually lasts until he gets here! she is even making drew play "baby" and she feeds him and picks him up and calls him jacob! we'll see...
oh, and as far as drew goes, he is definitely less interested in things. when we ask him about baby jacob, he says, "I the baby"! he's the one i'm worried about :)
