sweet dreams...5.10

after we all attended hunter's birthday party in the morning, just sarah and i went to hannah grace and felicity's birthday party at SEGA gym in the afternoon. poor little drew needed his nap! sarah had a great time running around, swinging on a rope, jumping on a trampoline, climbing a rope wall, and playing on the gym floor. sarah was absolutely EXHAUSTED after two parties...we headed home, had a little dinner as a family, took baths, and chilled on the bed for a few minutes before putting the kids down for the night. the kids were being extra precious (i am SO NOT BIASED!!!) so i grabbed the camera to capture the moment!!!

after sarah's recital pics, we rushed down to the children's museum for hunter's birthday party...the party started at 10am, so we were a little late. but, the kids joined right in on the fun and had such a good time! i was totally surprised that the children's museum was really empty. i figured a saturday morning would be wild there, but our group pretty much had free reign over the place! i wasn't a nervous wreck like i usually am trying to keep my kids in eye sight with millions of other kids running crazy!!! the kids really enjoyed having daddy there too!!!

the start of a very busy day...5.10

on saturday, may 10th, we were busy little bees around here...the morning started with sarah's dance recital pictures. let me tell ya...i COULD NEVER be a pageant mom or stage mom! it was terrible trying to get sarah's hair and makeup and costume ready for a 9am appointment! the pictures went pretty well...considering 25 3 and 4 year olds were involved!!!

spending time with the york's...5.8 and 5.9

griffin came home from school with us on thursday afternoon. the kids thought it was such a treat to have a friend over without his mom being there. sarah and griffin got cozy on the couch watching tv and enjoying their snacks. note griffin is wearing a backpack while relaxing... the next morning, we loaded all the kids up in mary's suburban and headed to the zoo! we got to the gate of the zoo (which drew calls the "castle") and the line of cars to go in was crazy long! we had to park in a field and hike over to the actual zoo. when we were entering, we asked what in the world was going on at the zoo that day?!? the lady said that 5,000 school kids were coming that day!!! yikes! well, it ended up that except for having to park in outer mongolia, it really wasn't too much more crowded than normal. the kids really had fun together...well, sarah, griffin, and ava did. sweet little drew stayed in the back chair of the double stroller THE WHOLE TIME. i have NO idea where that came from...he didn't even get out of his seat while we ate lunch. he was just perfectly content being pushed around and taking it all in. NOT typical drew behavior, but we certainly appreciated only having 3 kids running wild instead of 4!!! we even stopped for sonic treats on our way home! it was a great day!!!

just a fun few days...5.4 and 5.5

on sunday night, mary and i had the night off from teaching choir, so we decided to skip church and take our families out instead! we all headed to memphis pizza cafe for dinner and then over to the park. we played until the sun went down! it was a fun family night on a rare free sunday evening!
the next morning, mimi and i took the kids to the zoo again! have to go as often as we can before its over 90 degrees every day! we let the kids "free" from the strollers and they had a blast!!! drew climbed every fence, bench, and wall in the entire zoo! they were so exhausted when we left that we had to keep them awake during the car ride home!!!

sarah's spring preschool program...5.2

notice the ginormous bruise above sarah's left eye...sarah was wearing her patch friday morning when she hit her head on our train table. there was no visible evidence of a boo boo at that time. once we took the patch off--viola! instant shiner for the preschool program!!!

our kids are so funny. as soon as we get them dressed each day, they ask if we can go outside and take pictures! well, right after drew comes up to me and holds out his arms to show me his outfit and says, "i precious!" boy, we are definitely humble, huh?!?
