my special helper...sarah

my darling daughter has decided that she can WRITE! she leaves her special talents on every piece of paper she can lay her hands on! it doesn't matter what it is...a blank sheet of paper, mommy's grocery list, a receipt, or in one case...TIM's PAYCHECK!!! thankfully the bank had no trouble accepting that one!!! we have had MANY talks about "what sarah can and cannot write on"...so far to no avail :(

"i wanna hold the baby!!!"...2.6

sweet miss amy let ALL the kids hold her little girl, mary mcrae while we were playing at mcdonald's after mops! the kids were surrounded by french fries, chicken nuggets, and an indoor playground, and they were all fighting over holding the baby!

pajama day at preschool...1.29

sarah's preschool class studied the letter "P" the last week of january. they had a Parade with their Puppy dogs, ate Pancakes, had Pajama day, and ate Popcorn. wow! "P" is a fun letter! little brother drew did NOT have "P" week at school, but did think he needed his picture made when sarah was having her picture made in her Pink Pajamas with her Pink Poodle Puppy! isn't alliteration fun, too?!?

sarah's first trip to the dentist...1.9

i took sarah to her very first dentist appointment on january 9th! first, mimi came over to watch drew and brought a few dentist books to read to sarah. sarah was excited about half the storytime and, then she would get scared about something in the book...while driving to the dentist, sarah seemed pretty calm about the whole thing. we kept talking about how a dentist had already been to her classroom this year to discuss dental health and talk about what a dentist does.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
dr. barton, our family dentist and friend, has a cute little "kids' only" waiting room...sarah initially thought that going to the dentist was AWESOME!!!
my normal hygenist took care of sarah...she was so patient and sweet! when i was ready to wring sarah's neck, she was still so nice!!!
overall, the dentist adventure went pretty well. sarah did really well for the hygenist...until she only let her clean about 3 of her teeth. but, by that point, we had been at the dentist about 10 minutes in the waiting room, and 20 minutes in the exam chair...that's a long time for a sqwirmy wormy 3.25 year old! she pretty much lost it when dr. barton tried to examine her mouth and teeth. and once sarah gets started, there is really no calming her down...drama drama queen!!! of course, now when she talks about the dentist, she says she was so brave and had so much fun! go figure!!!
darbye's birthday party...1.8
sarah went to THE CUTEST birthday party at a place called sweet and sassy for darbye's 4th birthday! the girls all got tatoos, got to pick out princess gowns, got their nails, hair, and makeup done, and went through a princess training and coronation! it was too cute...and of course, what more could a 3 or 4 year old want than to be a princess?!?
new year's eve 2007
the evening began calmly enough...with the 4 kids eating at one table and the 5 adults eating at the other table... then we put all the kids down for the night, and the trouble began...
andy and kelly
tim and kelly
andy strikes a pose behind his brother-in-law (who knows why?!?)...
boys will be boys...
again, i think the evening went downhill at this point. andy wanted to watch some special on tv where this guy was going to jump his motorcycle the farthest ever to get in the guiness book of world records. i think all the guys starting thinking they were macho men at this time...
tim lifting dustin in the air...
dustin got it in his head that he could do a push-up with tim on his back...yeah, right...but we sure did laugh hard watching him try!!!
sweet mary decided to make her husband feel better by letting him do a push-up with HER on his back...
mary and tim...
why tim thought his shirt needed to be like that for a pic is beyond me...
