c4 spring explosion...4.20

the children's choir for ages 3 through kindergarten has been called "connect 4" all year since we are trying to teach the children about 4 things...prayer, worship, giving, and scripture. well, during a brainstorming session recently, we (ok, i had NOTHING to do with it!) realized that "connect 4" was "c4"! an explosive! what better way to describe rambunctious preschoolers than that?!? so, we had our end of the year program for all the parents/grandparents/etc. on april 20th. the 3 year old choir (my and sarah's class) performed "deep and wide" and "the B-I-B-L-E". the kids did a really great job! and it was nice for the parents to see how much the kids have learned this year! the best news though, is that we only have ONE more choir class before summer! this has been one exhausting year of sunday nights :)

sarah's dance class...4.7

at this month's parent's night at sarah's dance class, we received the costume for sarah's dance recital coming up at the end of may. her class will be dressed as lions while they perform to music from the lion king...i think i mentioned that before. well, the headpieces were hilarious. sarah's kept flipping off her head. we will definitely be working on that! don't forget to look at sarah's new short haircut!!!

sarah's hair was getting a little out of control, so mommy decided it was time for her first major chop off! mimi came over to watch little brother so that it could be a girls only event. sarah is a MUCH more fidgety haircut customer than her little brother...guess drew's 20+ haircuts have something to do with that!!! anyway...her hair is lots shorter and really cute!!!

darling doughnut birthday party...4.3

sarah went to her friend heather's birthday party at Oh! Susannah's! bakery. it was so cute! the kids got to go in the back and see the "process" of doughnut making...and heather gave everyone cute aprons that said, "chef sarah" or whatnot! the kids all had a great time running around and playing together. most of sarah's classmates were there...and they thought it was too fun that they were together outside of school!
the kids were given all the supplies to make a "cat"...doughnut, twizzlers for whiskers, whipped cream, cherry, etc. sarah worked very hard on hers...
can't you tell that's a cat?!?

miss sherri shared some of her pictures with us from Easter sunday...here are sarah and miss sherri in their bunny ears... drew kept putting his arm around mommy's neck and saying, "cheese"! he was a ham that day! speaking of ham, he ate so much and got soooooo messy that he was quickly changed out of his darling Easter outfit--into this terrible ensemble! yikes!!!

nicholas's 4th birthday party...3.28

the kids and i went to nana and pop pop's house to celebrate nicholas's 4th birthday with nicholas, aunt becky, and uncle paul. when it was time for nicholas to open his presents, the kids sat on the ottoman together like little statues to watch him. what?!? my kids never sit still! well, except for when sarah tried to pick up drew by herself...that was loads of fun for drew, huh?

p.s. daddy was on the golf course during the birthday party. apparently, he was "making business connections" with some uppity ups at a bank. nice. but, a huge storm blew in that morning, and he ended up meeting us at home when we got back from the party.

when we heard how COLD it was going to be on Easter Sunday, we decided to put our Easter clothes on a few days early and take some pics outside. we were on our way to see the Easter bunny. drew had JUST gotten up from a nap and wasn't really into it...as you can see.

for our spring break, the kids, mimi, and i headed to franklinton to see all our family. the weather was really nice and the kids got to spend lots of time outdoors. i think we hid and found easter eggs a hundred times! and the kids weren't picky. they could watch us toss them out, and then eagerly run to put them in their baskets! we also enjoyed some time on papa's golf cart. more pics of our visit to louisiana to come...
